  1. Open your PDF: Launch A1 PDF Editor and open the PDF file you wish to edit.

  2. Access Header and Footer Settings:

    • Navigate to the Edit menu.

    • Select Header and Footer >

  3. Insert Page Numbers:

    • In the dialog box, choose the position for the page numbers (e.g., top-right, bottom-center).

    • Click on Insert Page Number.

    • Customize the format, font, and size as needed

  4. Apply Changes: Click OK to add the page numbers to your document.

  1. Open the Bates Numbering Tool:

    • Go to the Edit menu.

    • Select More > Bates Numbering >

  2. Add Files:

    • In the Bates Numbering dialog box, click Add Files to select the documents you want to number.

  3. Configure Bates Numbering:

    • Set the Prefix and Suffix as desired.

    • Choose the Starting Number and Number of Digits.

    • Select the position on the page where the Bates number will appear.

  4. Output Options:

    • Click on Output Options to specify naming conventions for the files, such as adding the Bates number to the filename.

  5. Apply Bates Numbering: Click OK to apply the Bates numbering to your documents


✍️ Adding Custom Text to Headers or Footers

  1. Access Header and Footer Settings:

    • Navigate to the Edit menu.

    • Select Header and Footer >

  2. Insert Custom Text:

    • In the dialog box, enter your desired text in the appropriate section (e.g., left header, center footer).

    • Customize the font, size, and alignment as needed.

  3. Apply Changes: Click OK to add the custom text to your document.
